The Standards are defined as the knowledge, skills and understanding that individuals can and do habitually demonstrate over time because of instruction and learning experiences.
Students bring their unique prior knowledge to every learning situation. This knowledge is critical while students are learning new information. Since educators have a key role in facilitating students’ learning, they can select and utilize relevant information to support learning. Therefore, when teachers understand the most important information to draw from text, they can alert and build students’ knowledge of this information.

In this time of uncertainty, unforeseen challenges, and change, we need to learn how to be resilient, exploring ways to reduce stress as we clear the mind and calm the body. We need to be able to center in the moment and do what needs to be done–with clarity, focus, and compassion for self and others. One way to help ourselves be resilient is to practice mindfulness.
