Description
An introduction to the NYS Common Core English Language Arts Regents Exam and an overview of preparation materials designed specifically for Migrant Ed staff & students. The materials provide the option of either a condensed four-session course focusing on reviewing critical skills and exam structure, or a more in-depth twelve-session version that allows student more time to practice the skills they need to excel.
The content in this presentation is geared towards serving the migrant populations in New York State as defined under Title I, Part C and the approved State Service Delivery Plan, and may NOT be appropriate to all situations.

About the Presenter
A North Country native, Mark majored in English while attending college in NYC before returning to St. Lawrence County for graduate school at SUNY Potsdam. He holds certification in both ELA & Social Studies and has worked in a variety of educational settings in both Manhattan and Northern New York. Mark worked with the Northeast METS from 2017 to September 2019, serving as Adolescent Outreach and Program Advocate. For the past few years, he has also had the opportunity to advise the Drama Club at his old high school, directing the annual fall production. Mark is now an English teacher at St. Lawrence Central High School.
