This workshop will be recorded.
Description
Out-of-School Youth (OSY) are a unique population of students who have a variety of different educational and support needs. Even within our OSY population, we can find several different groups of students with distinctly different needs: OSY who are beginner level language learners who will only be in our area for a brief period of time, more advanced language learners who are interested in regular instruction, students who are not interested in instruction at all, and students who are interested in instruction but who you are unable to serve on a regular basis, to name a few. During this workshop, participants will learn how OSY learn differently than in-school students, and will receive tips and strategies for serving these students effectively. We will also discuss how to differentiate instruction based on student interests, availability, and literacy level.
Register using the form below. Zoom meeting information will be emailed to those who register before the event.
