Regional Spotlight! Cortland METS Early Childhood Milestone Pilot

During 2019-20, the Cortland METS piloted the use of the Child Development Framework Milestones materials. They provided professional development to Migrant Educators and reviewed the three, four, and five-year old CDC developmental milestone content. Staff created a streamlined document to display the milestones chronologically and in chart form for easy access for staff and families. Migrant Educators worked with individual preschool students on the various skills noted in the framework and also discussed the skills with families for at-home independent practice. A booklet was created and folders were organized by age (3, 4, 5-year olds) and distributed to families.
