Description

(Please read fully, and then register below.)

Designed for students in grades 9-12 and their parents, College 101 will encourage families as they look forward to post-secondary choices. Katia Chapman will use information about the Finger Lakes Community College to model what students and parents can look for in the colleges of their choice. Students and parents will spend time looking at what they can do now to prepare for their goals.

Migrant Educators: Thank you for helping us with our first-ever statewide webinar for students!

  • We ask that you register, but students do not need to.
  • Use the INVITATION FLIER for general information and promoting the event to students and parents. (Find the English and Spanish flier below.)
  • We will rely on you to send the information to students and parents in order to help them join the Zoom meeting. Use the CONNECTION EMAIL for families who will attend and who are able to connect. A copy of the CONNECTION EMAIL will be sent directly to you after you register, and your Director also has the information.
  • Students who can join the meeting using the link will have the best experience, but families are welcome to call in to just listen. Just remember to let families know that the phone number is a long distance call.
  • It is strongly advised that you have a technology practice meeting with the student and/or parents to walk them through how to connect to a Zoom meeting. It is best to do this BEFORE the webinar to help alleviate last minute connection issues.

Language note:

  • The afternoon session, 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., will be completely in English.
  • The evening session, 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., will be completely in Spanish.

The content in this presentation is geared towards serving the migrant populations in New York State as defined under Title I, Part C and the approved State Service Delivery Plan, and may NOT be appropriate to all situations.

Register Now! (English and Spanish) - Staff Only

Today is July 21, and registration is now closed; however you are still welcome to attend. Please reach out to your director or contact us to get the zoom meeting information.
