Description

Do you have questions about how to know if your MEP students might also be eligible for McKinney-Vento services? This workshop is about identifying eligible students and unaccompanied youth through answering questions from the field.

The content in this presentation is geared towards serving the migrant populations in New York State as defined under Title I, Part C and the approved State Service Delivery Plan, and may NOT be appropriate to all situations.

To have the ability to identify when MEP students might also be eligible for McKinney-Vento services.

About the Presenter

Erin facilitates work on both the NYS Migrant Education Program and the NYS McKinney Vento Program within the Office of ESSA Funded Programs at the New York State Education Department (NYSED). Before joining NYSED, Erin was a middle school Science Teacher in Troy, NY, for six years, and then taught Freshman Biology at the University at Albany for two years. Erin loved being outdoors on farms for research, and she has earned two Master’s: M.A.T.5-12 Biology Instruction and M.S. Biodiversity, Conservation and Policy.
