Description

Have you been working with undocumented youth for years, or just a short time, and noticed that for every success there seem to be new obstacles? You are not alone. This PD is designed for people with a range of experience. We will start by defining some of the tools we have in our toolbox to support higher education pathways (such as the NYS Dream Act and The Dream US), and then dive into topics for the 2024-2025 academic year. What's the impact of the June 2023 Executive Order for greater access to D-3 waivers? What the heck happened with the FAFSA and mixed status families? Why does TAP continue to be so hard to implement at some colleges through the NYS Dream Act? How do we advise students who want to go out of state? The questions we answer together in November will be tailored to the pressing issues of the season.
