DESCRIPTION

Welcome to the 2024-25 Migrant Education Program (MEP) Kickoff Celebration! This is a time for us to come together – to celebrate our achievements, embrace the challenges ahead, and to support each other as we embark on a new program year with new opportunities and the promise of growth and learning. It is also a time for us to recognize your dedication and the remarkable work that you do every day, with and for our migrant children and their families!
 
Joining us in the celebrations are Deputy Commissioner Jason Harmon; Assistant Commissioner Theresa Billington; Director Erica Meaker; and Supervisor Lori Genito from the State Education Department (SED).  
 
Let us gather, as a team, at this event, with friends and colleagues from SED, the Statewide Support Team (SST), ID&R-TASC, and the eight regional METS program centers, and other agencies to celebrate the migrant education program and to recognize our partners who work so selflessly alongside us to ensure that the needs of all migratory children are met. 
 
Every child has a unique story waiting to be revealed, and you hold the key to unlock their potential. You are not just a Migrant Educator, Data Specialist, Administrative Support Staff, or Recruiter. You are a catalyst for dreams and possibilities.  Let us kick off the start of the 2024-25 program year with an Olympic-sized BANG!
